Canonical: https://docs.getonebooks.com/tax/gulf/
Language: en
Documentation index: https://docs.getonebooks.com/llms.txt

Applies to businesses whose country is **Qatar**, **Kuwait**, **Bahrain** or **Oman**.

## Defaults by country

| Country | Currency | Decimals | Tax | Default rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Qatar | QAR | 2 | Tax | 0% (no VAT in force) |
| Kuwait | KWD | **3** | Tax | 0% (no VAT in force) |
| Bahrain | BHD | **3** | VAT | 10% |
| Oman | OMR | **3** | VAT | 5% |

## Three-decimal currencies

For KWD, BHD and OMR every amount — prices, totals, payments, journal lines — is kept to **three** decimal places (fils/baisa), and the balance tolerance is half of 0.001. Enter prices like **12.750** and the totals stay exact.

## If your country has no VAT

Qatar and Kuwait start with a 0% "Tax" placeholder. Leave **Enable Tax** on with the 0% default so documents are ready if a VAT is introduced, or switch it off under **Settings → Tax Settings**. Arabic and English are both available for the interface and documents.
